The palace of the Bulgarian kings on Tsarevets Hill becomes a ballet stage on 5 and 6 August at 21:00. The ballet company of the Sofia Opera and Ballet will present two of its best known performances – the classical romantic ballet “Giselle” by Adolphe Adam on the first evening and "Zorba the Greek" by Mikis Theodorakis on the second one.
Fans can meet and talk personally with the ballet stars at a special meeting at 19:00 on 4 August at the Lapidarium of the Museum of Archaeology. The ballet performances are part of the Open Air Opera Festival “Stage of the Ages”, which is one of the highlights of Veliko Tarnovo’s bid for European Capital of Culture in 2019.
