Backstage tour and meeting with soloists of the Stage of the Ages Festival

The parallel events of this year’s Open Air Opera Festival “Stage of the Ages” start with a meeting with the stars of the Sofia Opera and Ballet on 31 July 2014 at 19:00 in the Lapidarium of the Museum of Archaeology, followed by screening of excerpts from Toska from the last year’s edition of the festival later that night, at 21:00, near the pavilion of Happiness in Marno Pole Park.

The traditional “backstage tour” is scheduled for the next day, 1 August. Participants will be able to observe the work of the team, preparing the set of "Madame Butterfly". The walking tour starts at 18:00 from the main entrance of Tsarevets Fortress. The programme of the festival includes “Madame Butterfly” by Giacomo Puccini on 2 and 3 August from 21:00; the ballet “Giselle” by Adolphe Adamis on 5 August; another ballet performance - "Zorba the Greek" by Mikis Theodorakis on 6 August. "Cavalleria Rusticana" by Pietro Mascagni and "Gianni Schicchi" – a comic opera by Giacomo Puccini will be performed both on 9 and 10 August. The Open Air Opera Festival “Stage of the Ages” is organised by Veliko Tarnovo Municipality and Municipal Tourism Agency “Tsarevgrad Turnov” in partnership with Sofia Opera and Ballet.
