The team of VT 2019 visiting the Italian city of Lecce

At the invitation of the Italian city of Lecce, a candidate for European capital of culture 2019, representatives of the team visited the town of VT-2019, 31 May and 1 July 2014. Eliza Kalozi and Ivelina Ruseva had a working meeting with the team of Lecce 2019 and participated in the opening of the first "Casa Eutopia" part of the concept and program of Lecce 2019 "Reinventing Eutopia". Eutopia House is the result of the application of Lecce, where are described and synthesized eight utopias. Together they form a Reinventing Eutopia (makeover). From the interaction between the eight utopias begins the process of upgrading ourselves. The symbiosis between the various utopias would lead to a wave of innovation and interdesciplinarni initiatives. The eight are DEMOCRAtopia utopias-(Democratic), POLIStopia (social), EDUtopia (education), TALENTtopia (talents), PROFItopia (economic), ECOtopia (ecology), EXPIRIENTopia (experience) ARTopia (art).

The opening of the House Eutopia attended and representatives of the teams of candidates for HSC 2019 from Plovdiv and Varna, as the event in front of the citizens and the media was presented the progress of the application and the Bulgarian cities.

A working meeting with representatives of the team of Lecce Airan Berg (artistic director) and Iris Manca (assistant to the artistic director), Raffaele Parlangeli (CEO), Maria Assunta Contino (Assistant to Executive Director) and our representatives Elisa calosi and Ivelina Ruseva, projects were discussed at both the city and the possibilities for partnership. As interfaces in the vision for your applications, Lecce and Veliko Tarnovo dealt with art and culture as important tools for change and revival of the cities and lifestyles, aim to improve the quality of life. Both cities are in countries of major economic centres in their countries, but they are tourist destinations with a population under 100,000 inhabitants and ambition to become a modern cultural centers.
