"5 x 5 + 1" – the show that combines classic and modern styles of dance music, which combines the folklore with jazz

Musicians who perform live on stage ethno-Jazz interpretations on the basis of popular folk motifs, while the dancers tell five stories about relationships, with different dance style – this combination is undoubtedly the avant-garde and innovative on the Bulgarian scene.

Even more curious is that the audience in each different city felt touched differently from this creative experiment of the choreographer Peter Iliev. He says that for him has been extremely exciting work not only with the dancers, but also with famous musicians involved in the project. Who are they?

Petar Ralchev is one of the brightest stars of the contemporary Bulgarian music scene. The creator of a unique style, which he describes as "virtuosity, melodiousness, rich harmony and improvisation". It is a source of inspiration for many young accordionists in the world today. Deep knowledge of folk music, coupled with a solid classical education, allow him to develop enormously and to transcend tradition.

"With Peter Iliev met a long time ago, we worked together. We have the same views on the development of folklore and the "5 + 1" was the ideal occasion to create a common spectacle. Generally, it is a pleasure to work with musicians and dancers like those invited to this project "– Petar Ralchev.

Petar Ralchev, along with virtuoso Peyo Peev gadulka player, soloist in Orchestra for folk music at the BULGARIAN NATIONAL RADIO, are the creators of the music and the arrangements that you will hear for the first time during performance "5 x 5 + 1" and will surprise you with its mix of ethno-jazz, influenced by the Bulgarian folklore tradition, world and electronic music.

One of the emblems of the Bulgarian music, Stoyan  Yankulov - Stunge, is also among the musicians who will unleash on the scene. One of the memorable moments of the show is precisely his drum solo during it's hip-hop dance with the young and the electrifying dancers of Petar Iliev.

Among the musicians are even Angel Dimitrov (guitar) and Boris Taslev (bass), which also introduced his unique style and style in this dance-music show. The soundtrack of the "5 x 5 + 1 is in itself delightful tangle of several style, with numerous included musical improvisation.

After the premiere of "5 × 5 + 1" in Sofia in the festive may 24 and visit the show in Plovdiv on May 25, expect this unforgettable experience in:

  • Veliko Tarnovo on May 30, Friday, from 19: 00 in the musical-drama theatre "Konstantin kisimov";
