Veliko Tarnovo exchanges ideas with the Italian candidates for European capital of culture 2019

Representatives of the five Italian cities candidate for European capital of culture 2019 exchanged ideas with the creative community and the team, preparing the candidature of Veliko Tarnovo for the prestigious title.

The meetings were held in the Archaeological Museum during the weekend festivities celebrating Veliko Turnovo day on March 22. Guests from Ravenna, Siena, Lecce, Matera and Perugia presented their candidature, exchanged ideas and discussed opportunities for joint projects with the representatives of the public and the non-governmental sector of our city in the field of culture and arts. Emphasis in these meetings was the implementation of good practices and models for the development of the cultural sector at the international level, the contribution to European culture, as well as the coverage and the active involvement of citizens in the various initiatives and projects.

"Thank you for the many ideas that we were able to Exchange and the awakening of the sense of belonging that can transform into something that will bring the economic contribution of our historic cities. Meetings during these days will manage to realize mutual projects and hope that this will lead to the possibility of future development of cities ", summed up by the name of Italian cities the Bulgarian Maria Borisova, which together with Pierkarlo Petirosi represented the team of Perugia.

With the Italian delegations also met the Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Daniel Panov and his deputies Snejana Daneva - Ivanova and Gancho Karabadjakov.
