State Archives of Veliko Turnovo with its significant contribution to the programme for the celebration of the ancient capital

State Archives of Veliko Tarnovo, prepare and provide a rich photographic material, which presents important documents related to the history of the feast of the old capital – 22 March. The documents are part of a digital exhibition that can be seen at the video wall outside the building of the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo.

Among the documents are Protocol of Urban municipal control from 1924, which officially accepted for the official celebration of the city March 22. A program for the upcoming celebration in 1942, on which are inscribed the names of our benefactors of the city, as well as photos of old Tarnovo with emblematic buildings and places.

Photos from the end of the 19th century and documents from the beginning of the 20th century are especially interesting and attractive and present little known facts of the new history of Veliko Tarnovo, and unique photos of the city and the landscape of that time. The exhibition is an important part of Veliko Turnovo's candidacy for European capital of culture, showing the European influences and trends in the Tarnovo culture and architecture.
