Baba Marta Lovelace, hundreds of children in Veliko Tarnovo

In support of our candidature to be European Capital of Culture an authentic antique carriage attached with martenitsas carried Baba Marta and her granddaughter Martinka through the city to the ancient castle on Tsarevets Hill. Hundreds of children, citizens and guests were involved in the event and enjoyed the exchange of the martenitsas writst bands that symbolize the coming of spring.
