Free bookstore, horoteka and cinema near Asenevtsi Monument

13 August 2014

Art Summer Project events for this week start with a free bookstore near Asenevtsi monument on Wednesday. This every Wednesday initiative gradually turns into a summer tradition. This week the free bookstore will be based in the Paper Pavilion installation, constructed during the two-week European Architecture Students Assembly (EASA). The free bookstore starts after 18:00 on 13 August.

Its concept is that everyone can bring books in any language he/she no longer needs and take back an interesting book, brought by someone else, although it’s not obligatory to bring a book in order to take one. Of course reading lovers can read the books somewhere in Asenevtsi Park. For the fans of Bulgarian folklore dances, Dance Club “Tarnovgrad” organizes “Horoteka” (Bulgarian horo dancing party for everyone) on 15 August (Friday) at 21:00.

Saturday and Sunday are dedicated to Bulgarian cinema: On 16 August “More than Cinema” module will show the unique short documentaries “Salt I” and “Salt II”, directed by Eduard Zahariev and “The Eternal Musician” by Oscar Kristanov. The three films will be presented personally by their director of photography, Ivan Tsonev. The following night, 17 August, is devoted to screening of films made by students and professors from New Bulgarian University. Both Cinema Nights start at 21:00.

All Art Summer events are free.
